I started taking online French classes with Ms Lise Durand in summer 2020. Lise is a wonderful teacher and a great conversation partner. In addition to helping me improve my grammar and vocabulary, Lise has been my guide to French society and culture and, over the past year, we have discussed topics as diverse as Apollinaire’s calligrams, the history of secularism in France, and the Netflix series « Dix pour cent », to name just a few. I always look forward to our lessons, which are energizing and fun. The many French language resources Lise has pointed me to (radio stations, newspapers, movies, YouTube videos) have helped improve my comprehension. I recommend Lise most warmly to anyone who wishes to learn French, no matter their level.
Lise is a phenomenal instructor who truly takes the time to understand her students’ needs and adapt her lesson plans accordingly. I have been working directly with Lise for over a year and can attest that her classes strike the right balance between formal instruction and conversational practice – a combination that makes each lesson stimulating and enjoyable. Studying online with Lise is remarkably simple given the resources that she is able to provide and the detailed notes/corrections that she makes in shared docs during each session. I would not hesitate in recommending Lise for any type of French instruction… elle est la meilleure !
I’ve known Lise for two years. She helped me with my French, which improved tremendously while working with her. I speak 5 foreign languages and have worked with many teachers. I can honestly say that Lise is one of the best. She is extremely patient, has a great attentiveness and adapts to any student’s needs. Her ability to connect with her students and her talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics, are both truly superior. She also has a profound knowledge of French culture, arts, and literature, which she presents interestingly to her students. Her positive attitude makes learning French fun. I highly recommend Lise.
Lise is an excellent teacher! I was looking for a teacher to improve my French, because I had learned French at school and felt it would be good to pick it up again. By now Lise and I have been working together for almost 2 years. My French has improved and I’m always looking forward to our classes, since they are both interesting and engaging.So far I’ve had private lessons, but I’m very much looking forward to Lise’s new offers, which will be based around working in small groups. If you’re thinking about improving your French, I highly recommend Lise’s work!
I have been working with Lise for a few years now and from not being fluent at all at that time, we managed to reach a point where we have fluent discussions on literally any topic. Lise offers a very individual and flexible service based on your needs – if you want to focus on writing or speaking or anything specific, she will adjust her lessons accordingly for you to meet your personal goals. Plus, Lise works with interesting, updated and modern learning material, adding also news articles or videos on current global events to her agenda.
